You hit the nail right on the head. But Alien Mind, you base these assumptions on personal faith in the probability! Oh my your a believer after all.

Everyone believes in something. At least he's placed his faith in the most deserving thing possible.

Faith is placed as one chooses. Deserving does not enter the picture.

Everyone believes in something. At least he's placed his faith in the most deserving thing possible. According to who? Himself? Others? Alien is not stupid, nor is he a robot. He has chosen where his faith will lie, as do all.

So you don't believe in probability? Do you believe the sun will explode tomorrow, because it is improbable?

Your example is a little skewed.
You beleive in math in that in its abstraction it expresses something real in the world. Probability is an application of your belief in math. Claiming the sun might or might not nova is a speculation of the use of a belief. Therefore, one may have a belief in the validity of math without claiming anything about the sun going nova.

Paragon, you've just inadvertently brought up one of my favorite theories..."the law of inverse probability." because i have never seen the sun explode before, chances are that the next time the sun has to choose between randomly exploding or simply continuing to exist as before, it will choose to express it's displeasure with the monotony of the status quo by going nova...it's only a matter of when the next time the choice will arise.
